About Calcapay

Calcapay is a collection of free calculators for everyday decisions about pay, taxes, loans, shopping and budgeting in the United States.

What we try to do well

• Show the working. Every calculator page explains the formula, walks through an example and lists what the estimate leaves out.
• Use published figures. Tax brackets, deductions, wage bases and state rates come from the IRS, the Social Security Administration and the Tax Foundation. See methodology and sources.
• Keep your numbers private. All calculations run in your browser. What you type is not sent to us or stored on a server.
• Stay fast. Pages are plain HTML, CSS and a small amount of JavaScript.

Who runs the site

Calcapay is an independent website. It is not affiliated with the IRS, any government agency, lender or employer.

We are not tax, legal or financial advisers, and the calculators are not a substitute for professional advice. Please read the disclaimer.

How the site is funded

The calculators are free to use. The site may display advertising to cover its costs. Advertisers have no influence over how calculations are made. Details of advertising cookies are in the privacy policy.

If you find a number or explanation that looks wrong, please tell us. We check reports against the original source and fix confirmed errors.
